Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of accounting operations and financial reporting across assigned entities within the Group.
Ensures compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements, while driving process optimization and cross-functional alignment.
Perform duties in accordance with Malia Group policies and procedures.
Education And Experience
Education
BA in Accounting, Finance or Audit
CPA is a plus
Experience
Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in financial/management accounting
Duties And Responsibilities
On Accounting Operations & Reporting
Prepare the weekly consolidated maturity list and ensure accurate prepayments reporting through close coordination with the team Lead the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and address discrepancies with accuracy and timeliness Maintain and update the Chart of Accounts and open new bank accounts as required Ensure accurate and timely import of payroll data and Journal Vouchers from supporting systems Reconcile General Ledger accounts with key subledgers (Accounts Payable, Receivable, Inventory) Monitor and reconcile intercompany balances, ensuring all differences are addressed and documented monthly Support the month-end and year-end closing processes in line with internal deadlines and audit requirements Act as a backup to Senior Accountant(s) during absences
On Controls & Compliance
Review and post manual General Ledger entries with proper documentation and approvals Validate the recurring entries file prepared by the Senior Accountants and ensure accurate cut-off Approve Credit and Debit Memos while ensuring appropriate justification and documentation Oversee the general balance and financial health of assigned companies within the Group structure Supervise reconciliations related to banks, intercompany, suppliers, and transitory accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy Ensure proper documentation and readiness of files required for internal and external audits Safeguard compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls across all accounting activities
Process Optimization & Cross-Functional Alignment
Collaborate with other departments to support new implementations or procedural updates, ensuring alignment with accounting standards Recommend improvements to workflows, reporting processes, and control systems to drive efficiency and reduce risk Coordinate with MIS on systems integration and digital enhancements for financial data flow and reconciliation accuracy Promote awareness and understanding of finance-related procedures within the team and across departments Ensure team members understand and apply Malia Group’s finance policies and quality standards
Team Leadership & Strategic Support
Guide and support team members in their daily work and development; foster a culture of precision, accountability, and collaboration Provide timely and clear responses to management accounting inquiries and contribute to analysis when needed Contribute to financial reviews and support business units with accurate and reliable financial information Support the Accounting Manager with operational updates, critical follow-ups, and risk flags related to financial data
On Human Resources
Contribute proactively with the Talent Acquisition Team in filling vacancies timely. Design/update related JD and on-boarding programs and ensure their proper understanding & implementation. Ensure an optimized structure in line with business priorities and performance Provide direct reports with needed resources/tools and guidance to fulfil their role properly and set their training needs and development plan in coordination with L&DM. Celebrate achievements, highlight people with potential to offer them perspective for growth Set direct reports annual Business Goals and required competencies and conduct quarterly feedback sessions to appraise their performance. Monitor continuously direct report productivity and take corrective actions in due time. Issue misconducts and enrol under-performers in related program Promote the Group's culture, encourage loyalty, trust, a healthy working environment and teamwork.
